I started the evening the way I always do when we’re alone in the house: I took his big, strong hand and led him to the nursery I’ve decorated just for him. “Time for your special diaper, my love,” I cooed, keeping my voice as soft as a lullaby. He climbed onto the changing table without a fuss, eyes already sparkling with that innocent little glow. I chose his favorite single diaper tonight, a thick, fluffy cloth one with a silky satin outer shell that feels like a warm hug against his skin. No crinkly plastic, no doubling up… just one perfect layer of soft absorbency wrapped in shimmering satin that rustles when he moves. I powdered him generously, letting my fingers linger gently on his tummy, then pinned the cloth snugly and slid the satin cover over it. He looked absolutely adorable. Next came his outfit: a pastel onesie with tiny embroidered teddy bears and ruffled leg openings that framed the satin diaper perfectly. I snapped it closed over his chest, then slipped a pair of soft booties on his feet and popped his favorite binkie between his lips, a blue pacifier with a cute little star on the shield. “There we go, my precious pee pee boy,” I whispered, kissing his forehead. “Mommy’s got you all safe and snug.” We spent the next hour playing right there on the nursery rug. Good boy.” He’d giggle around his binkie and nuzzle into my neck, completely lost in his baby headspace. I even gave him his bottle of warm milk while rocking him in the big glider chair, humming lullabies and stroking his hair. He was so peaceful, so trusting… my gentle giant who turns into the softest little baby for me. But as the evening grew later and the lights dimmed, I felt that familiar spark of mischief. I kissed the top of his head and whispered, “Mommy has a special surprise for you tonight, baby. Stay right here in your chair like a good boy.” I helped him into the big armchair beside the bed, his “watching spot” and buckled the soft safety strap loosely around his waist so he’d feel secure but could still see everything. His satin covered cloth diaper was on full display, the fluffy bulk between his legs making him look extra padded. Then I picked up my phone and texted my friend Jake: “Come over. Door’s unlocked. Baby’s ready to watch.” Jake arrived in minutes, tall and confident, already smiling when he saw my little sitting there with his binkie in his mouth. I pulled Jake straight into my bedroom, leaving the door wide open so […]
